Grow Like Benjamin Franklin

Benjamin Franklin is one of my idols.

That is because he epitomizes the term Growthinker.

Today, I would like to point out one specific habit of Ben that I believe to be quite inspiring.

Every single morning upon waking Ben asked himself the same question.
Every single night before laying down Ben asked himself another question.

The power of habits is indisputable, as I am sure many of you have discovered yourself.
Some find that out the easy way, others the hard way.
I hope you were fortunate enough to find it out the easy way.

However, that is not what I really wanted to share with you today.
I will get back to the power of habits and how you can make that very power work to your benefit in the near future though, so stay tuned!

But today I will share with you the two questions Benjamin Franklin asked himself every day.

Every single morning he asked himself “What good shall I do today?"
Every single night he asked himself "What good have I done today?"

That's it.
Simple questions right?

Hm, but answering them might not be so easy after all.
Or is it?

Well that, my friend, depends on YOU.

If you follow your dreams,
Do something you CARE about,
Do something you are passionate about,
Positively impact the life of the people around you,
You will have no difficulty answering those two questions for the rest of your life.

No matter how young or old you are.
No matter the phase of life you are in.

I want to invite you to ask yourself those two questions every day for the rest of this month.
Take them to heart and live your life to answer them,
Day in and day out.

In the morning,
When you are eating breakfast,
Commuting to work,
Or walking to class,
Ask yourself "What good shall I do today?"

Start with simple things like holding the door for someone,
Offering a helping hand when others seem to struggle,
And speaking words of kindness.

Opportunities to do good are all around you.
All you have to do is seize them.

At night,
When laying down in bed,
Commuting back home,
Or walking to your dorm room,
Ask yourself "What good have I done today?"

Reflect on the acts of kindness,
The love you spread in the world.

Trust me, if you commit to this you will start growing as a being.
You will notice your life and the world around you slowly filling with happiness and positivity.
You will be surprised how much of your life truly is in your own hands.

And who knows,
Maybe you'll even become the next president. 😉

Stay tuned Growthinkers.
